What is iCoolhunt?

iCoolhunt is a social game in which players challenge each other to become Gurus of Coolhunting. The goal of the coolhunt is to discover the next big things in design, fashion, technology, music, and lifestyle before they actually surface.

What is Cool?

It’s quite an elusive question. Here’s a definition from the Oxford Dictionary: “fashionably attractive or impressive”. Be that as it may, some of us do have an innate sense of coolness: they are “coolhunters”. Whether it’s the hip spot that will attract all the trendy people, or the next fashion phenomenon, or the latest sensation in indie music, coolhunters know it first.

Can You Recognize the Cool?

Upload pics and tips on what you think is cool. Decide what's hot and what's not by voting and commenting on uploaded content. The idea is to challenge your friends and to succeed at gaining votes and followers. Become one of the most influential Gurus in the game and your prey will be featured among the top prey.

A Trendbox is a simple collaborative tool that confirms or disconfirms the existence of new trends. If you believe you have identified an increasingly recurring trend, then put your discovery to the test by starting a Trendbox. A Trendbox is a collection of prey that any iCoolhunt user can contribute to by “trendboxing” pics of things that exemplify the trend that was first spotted. The Trendbox creator receives credit for each prey that is added to his or her collection.
